Star Wars' Mandalorians are easily recognizable by their beautifully designed armor, powerful weaponry, and formidable skills. Nonetheless, the legendary clan of hunters is shrouded in secrecy. 'The Way' of the Mandalorians tends to emphasize their skills and prowess as a people over individual merits, but a number of the legendary warriors have managed to distinguish themselves in Star Wars through other means.

Star Wars is full of legendary Mandalorians, appearing from Knights of the Old Republic to The Mandalorian. The people, as a whole, are shown to be among the galaxy's best warriors. Nonetheless, a few have stood out head and shoulders above their fellows.

Updated March 14th, 2023 by Isaac Williams: Season 3 of the Mandalorian is out and giving Star Wars fans another look at one of its galaxy's most interesting cultures. Din Djarin remains one of the most impressive Mandalorians in the Star Wars universe. However, he's far from the only one. This list has been updated with even more information about some of the best Mandalorians in Star Wars.

15 Satine Kryze

Satine Kryze is a pacifist politician who believes in peace for her people. Her power isn't in guns or armor – although Star Wars: The Clone Wars shows her ably defending herself on more than one occasion. Her power and influence are political in nature and no less potent for it.

Satine is able to fend off the influence of both the Republic and the Separatists and keep Mandalore neutral against all odds. She also deals with an insurrection from her people. Satine is one of the few people who could have transformed Mandalorian society. Her death at Maul's hands in The Clone Wars leads to Mandalore's poor state in the present day.

14 The Armorer

Next to nothing is known of the Mandalorian known as 'The Armorer.' She is a mysterious figure from The Mandalorian who serves as a spiritual leader to Din Djarin. As a Mandalorian, however, her seniority implies strength. She shows her prowess in The Mandalorian, taking down several stormtroopers with improvised weapons.

The Armorer holds lots of strength besides the physical. She's able to create impressive beskar armor that saves Din Djarin's life time and time again. The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian's third season also shows her in a leadership position despite the loss of the Covert. The Armorer continues to raise Mandalorians loyal to her. Her authority, such as in banishing Djarin, still carries weight.

13 Death Watch Commando

The Death Watch organization first debuted in Star Wars: The Clone Wars as the agents of Pre Vizsla. Significant numbers fall under the sway of Darth Maul after Vizsla's punishing defeat at his hands. Many of them stay true to Mandalorian ideals, however, and fight back against both Maul and the Separatists.

Death Watch commandos retain the martial ideals of Mandalore even when its society becomes more pacifistic. They keep old traditions alive and are vicious warriors for them. Death Watch members are even responsible for saving a young Din Djarin's life from a droid army attack.

12 Boba Fett

Both Boba Fett and his father, Jango, have faced accusations of not being Mandalorians. Prime Minister Almec and Bo-Katan Kryze have raised doubts about their claim to the title. Nonetheless, Boba Fett claims to be a Mandalorian and follows their ways.

There's no doubt about Boba Fett's prowess. He's known in the original Star Wars trilogy as one of the galaxy's best bounty hunters. He continues to prove himself in The Mandalorian's second season and his own show, The Book of Boba Fett. Fett is able to win a vicious gang war to take control of Tatooine and rule it more kindly.

11 Jango Fett

Jango Fett also follows the Mandalorian way of life and wears their armor. In many ways, he is more powerful than his clone offspring. Boba Fett achieves great things, but Jango Fett's achievements rival his. In Attack of the Clones, Jango Fett makes a good showing for himself. His prowess is such that he's chosen as the genetic template for the Republic's Clone Army.

Jango battles Obi-Wan Kenobi to a draw. He kills Jedi in the arena on Geonosis despite wielding blasters as his main weapon. Jango Fett only errs in trying to take on Mace Windu. One of Star Wars' most powerful Jedi is still needed to kill Jango Fett once and for all.

10 Tarre Vizsla

Mandalorians aren't often Force-sensitive. However, the very first ruler of Mandalore and the creator of the Darksaber itself is. Tarre Vizsla isn't just Force-capable. He even receives the honor of being part of the Jedi Order.

The Jedi and Mandalorians are ancient foes with a legacy of war that spans thousands of years. Tarre Vizsla is one of the few to combine their respective martial heritages. He exists as a symbol to all Mandalorians, best exemplified in his Darksaber deciding the rulership of Mandalore.

9 Pre Vizsla

Pre Vizsla is the first leader of the Death Watch. His goal is to restore his homeworld's reputation as the birthplace of the greatest warriors in the galaxy, which he ultimately achieves. Pre Vizsla is a gifted soldier. His marksmanship and close combat abilities make him a worthy opponent to both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul.

Pre Vizsla can use the Darksaber without relying solely on it. Despite lacking the Force, he is able to give Darth Maul a run for his money during their fight. Vizsla loses their bout, but he's able to give one of the galaxy's best duelists more pause than many Jedi.

8 Bo-Katan Kryze

Bo-Katan Kryze is the Nite Owls' leader and one of the lieutenants in the Death Watch. She is Duchess Satine's sister. Despite their familial tie, she opposes Satine's pacifistic goals and joins the Death Watch to reinvigorate Mandalore's martial spirit.

Satine achieves a great deal throughout Star Wars. She leads efforts to overthrow Maul's rule of Mandalore in The Clone Wars, claims the Darksaber in Star Wars Rebels, and becomes one of Moff Gideon's strongest opponents in The Mandalorian. Season 3 of The Mandalorian sees her give up in the face of losing the Darksaber again and abandon her dream of ruling Mandalore.

7 Gar Saxon

Gar Saxon is another Mandalorian with significant political power. He fights on Darth Maul's side as the commander of his Super Commando squad. Later in life, he becomes Mandalore's governor during the time of the Galactic Empire.

Saxon is an outstanding warrior renowned for his ferocity. He excels with Mandalorian tools like jetpacks. However, Saxon is more of a commander than a warrior. He achieves significant influence as the Emperor's Hand during the time of the Empire. His authority is such that even many who hate him are reluctant to rise against his rule.

6 Fenn Rau

Fenn Rau is the leader of the Skull Squadron throughout the Clone Wars. Fenn Rau is one of the few Mandalorians to fight alongside the Jedi Order and the Republic. He participates in many important battles, such as the one for Mygeeto. A young Kanan Jarrus even comes to owe Rau his life.

Rau stands out with his piloting prowess and his abilities as a trainer. He isn't one of the best Mandalorians in a straight fight, but he is more than capable of handling himself. It's unknown exactly what happens to Fenn Rau between Star Wars Rebels and The Mandalorian.

5 Sabine Wren

Sabine is one of Mandalore's most noble representatives. She becomes a symbol of hope to the people of Mandalore, who long to be free of the Empire's tyranny. Wren serves both as a bounty hunter and as a member of the Rebellion, being a key figure in Star Wars Rebels.

Sabine has the reputation of an outstanding warrior and an accomplished saboteur. She makes use of many skills like hacking, piloting, demolition, and undercover agent skills on various occasions in the war against the Empire.

4 Rook Kast

Rook Kast is a Mandalorian Clone Wars veteran. Maul gives her control over the Shadow Collective's super commando squad. She leads her people in several extremely dangerous missions. These include one to free Maul and another to capture General Grievous. Against the odds, Kast emerges alive and successful after both.

Wholly devoted to Maul, Kast paints her Mandalorian armor in his colors – red and black. She proves adept in several pieces of Mandalorian equipment, including jet packs and zip lines.

3 Paz Vizsla

Paz Vizsla is a prominent member of the Tribe and the Children of the Watch. He begins The Mandalorian as an ally of Din Djarin. Despite friction between them, Paz holds to the Mandalorian Creed. He demonstrates this when he comes to Djarin and Grogu's aid against many bounty hunters.

Paz is an expert marksman and heavy gunner. He proves to be one of the more capable members of the Children of the Watch, as he is one of the few members to survive an Imperial assault on the Covert. Vizsla shows his strength in The Book of Boba Fett when he duels Djarin for the Darksaber. Djarin wins, but Vizsla is able to disarm him during the fight.

2 Tiber Saxon

Tiber Saxon is the brother of Gar. After his brother's death, he becomes governor of Mandalore. He's an unusual Mandalorian leader. His leadership style involves insisting that Mandalore's culture has to change to exist within the Empire.

Saxon never shows any great combat prowess himself. However, he keeps himself in power through a weapon called the Dutchess, which vaporizes any target wearing Mandalorian armor. This, alongside his alliance with the Empire and the many resources at his disposal, makes Saxon a significant threat in Star Wars Rebels.

1 Din Djarin

Din Djarin is the protagonist of The Mandalorian. Over the course of his show and The Book of Boba Fett, Djarin has proven himself one of the Star Wars galaxy's best fighters. He's lethal with a blaster pistol, a flamethrower, his unique blaster rifle, a beskar spear, and many more.

Part of Djarin's power comes from his equipment, including a suit of blaster-proof beskar armor. However, he's only effective because of his sheer skill and versatility. He can even wield the Darksaber in combat. Djarin lacks any sort of political power and has even been exiled from his Mandalorian tribe. The Mandalorian season 3 shows his adventures on his people's home world. He may well take a position of authority.
