Star Wars: Squadrons has promised to put players in the shoes of pilots in the Star Wars universe. Now a six-minute short has been released, giving players a taste of what to expect.

The short is titled "Hunted" and debuted on the official EA Star Wars YouTube channel. Taking place after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, the short features a high pitched fight between the Imperial Navy and the New Republic. As the Imperials decide to retreat, they leave behind a single TIE Fighter who engages in combat with an X-Wing pilot.

The short is extremely reminiscent of the dogfights in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It also manages to flip the script and showcase the Empire as being outgunned and outmatched, which is a great twist.

Star Wars: Squadrons will put players in the shoes of an Imperial Titan Squadron or New Republic Vanguard Squadron pilot. The single-player campaign will see players engage in battles leading up to the sequel trilogy while meeting familiar faces from Star Wars canon, including Star Wars Rebels' Hera Syndulla. The game combines flight simulator mechanics with strategy and tactics.

Star Wars: Squadrons goes on sale Oct. 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
