Star Wars, S.H.I.E.L.D., X-Men: Days of Future Past: November 28th Comic Reel

E! Online spoke with Mark Hamill about the possibility of his return as Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars Episode VII,” but the actor couldn’t comment beyond speculation.

“We have questions about it,” Hamill told E! Online of himself and Carrie Fisher. “And really, they’re not even at the stage where they’re able to answer those questions because, as far as I know, is there a story yet?”

Meanwhile, HeyUGuys may have discovered that Matthew Vaughan has closed a deal to direct “Star Wars.” While speaking with Jason Flemyng during the “Seven Psychopaths” UK premiere, the actor may have revealed that Vaughan will be the director to take on Episode VII. Check around the 1:10 minute mark.

Opens 2015

One more actor has been added to Joss Whedon’s “S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot — Brett Dalton is set to play Agent Grant Ward, a cool-under-fire S.H.I.E.L.D. agent described as “a quiet one with a bit of a temper, but he’s the kind of guy that grows on you” in the original cast description. Dalton’s casting leaves only one role open: that of Skye, the “fun, smart, caring and confident” woman in her late 20s.

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” director Bryan Singer has been making waves on Twitter since recently joining the social media website, and his latest announcement is no different. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are confirmed to return to the X-Men franchise for “Days of Future Past.” Singer further revealed “X-Men: First Class” stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jenifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult will return for the sequel.

Opens July 18, 2014

JUSTICE LEAGUE reports Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s representatives have entirely refuted the rumor that he’ll play Batman in the “Justice League” film. For now, at least, it looks as though getting Gordon-Levitt back as John Blake in the cape and cowl has to go back to being a continuity-fan’s dream.

David Anders will make an appearance on the CW’s “Arrow” as Cyrus Vanch, a career criminal headed to Starling City to make trouble for Oliver Queen’s mission. Anders is best known for his role as Julian Sark on “Alias,” Uncle John on “The Vampire Diaries” and his current portrayal of Dr. Frankenstein on “Once Upon A Time.”

IGN spoke with Jessica De Gouw about her role as Helena Bertinelli/Huntress on tonight’s episode of “Arrow,” “Muse of Fire.”

“Helena comes from a very difficult upbringing,” De Gouw told IGN. “They’re her family, but I think she differs from them in her ideals and with what she thinks is right. So it kind of creates a conflict for her and while Oliver is trying to do what his father wants, Helena is the opposite. And separating yourself from one’s family is a big thing for anybody. I’d like to think I’m a little different with my family, but it’s pretty bold. And she has to be a pretty bold person to follow through.” It’s challenging for me because I play Helena and the Huntress and I have to be able to hold my own regarding the duality of the role. And I have to be able to kick butt and all of that. And I’m quite feminine in my normal every day life, so the fighting and all of that is new and interesting for me. But it’s good. I’m really enjoying it. I’ve really been thrust into it so you might as well just jump in, right?”

Airs Wednesdays on the CW

Here’s a fun tidbit for DC television fans: while speaking with IGN, “Arrow” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg gave a brief update on the status of SyFy’s adaptation of “Booster Gold.”

“‘Booster Gold’ is going in the next couple weeks before Christmas,” Kreisberg told IGN. “We’ll see what happens from there. It’s such a different project even though they’re both DC Comics properties. Booster is much more candy and popcorn, being about time travel and changing the future and being a superhero who can fly. But they’re both super-fun projects. As a lifelong DC Comics fan, I am beyond blessed to be working on these projects with all these amazing characters.”
