Of all the characters from the animated "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and "Star Wars Rebels," the one fans most want to see cross over into live-action is Ahsoka Tano, the former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker turned key player in the early days of the Rebellion. There's even a grass-roots campaign to encourage Lucasfilm to include Ahsoka is an upcoming film.

What's more, fans appear to have set their sights on Rosario Dawson for the role -- and the actress is certainly supportive of that idea, as she revealed Friday on ABC's "Good Morning America."
Dawson, who plays nurse Claire Temple across a range of Marvel's Netflix dramas, acknowledged the fan efforts, saying, "there is a whole campaign going on online to get me into 'Star Wars' to play Ahsoka Tano, which would be amazing."
In the clip, a "Good Morning America" host also points out that the official "Star Wars" Twitter account is already following Dawson. While that obviously doesn't confirm plans to cast the actress, it is, as the Dawson herself admits, "a good sign."
She went on to encourage more fans to join the campaign, imploring, almost in the style of Princess Leia, "Internet, help me out!"
Of course, Ahsoka would also fit well in the so-far purely speculative Obi-Wan Kenobi anthology film, or maybe even as a cameo in the upcoming Han Solo movie.
But the place the character will most likely appear next is on the fourth and final season of "Star Wars: Rebels." During Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida, the show's co-creator Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm Story Group member Pablo Hildago indicated Ahsoka's story is not yet finished.
Airing on Disney XD, “Star Wars Rebels” stars Taylor Gray, Freddie Prinze Jr., Vanessa Hudgens, Tiya Sircar and Steve Blum. It returns for its final season this fall.
