Patty Jenkins' Star Wars movie Rogue Squadron has been delayed indefinitely.

According to THR, the movie was pulled from the production schedule due to Jenkins' various other commitments. This includes Wonder Woman 3, which was expected to begin production after Rogue Squadron. Regardless, it's unclear if the Star Wars film will still hit its December 2023 release date.

Announced during the Disney Investor Day 2020 presentation, Rogue Squadron will center on the titular faction of Rebel Alliance fighter pilots. First seen during the Battle of Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back (then known as Rogue Group), Rogue Squadron would eventually headline a number of multimedia titles in the now-defunct Expanded Universe (aka Legends), from video games to comics to the Star Wars: X-Wing novel series by Michael A. Stackpole and Aaron Allston. The group famously included the likes of Luke Skywalker, Wedge Antilles and Hobbie Klivian.

"I love to move fast and speed of any kind," Jenkins said when the film was announced. "I think that that's because I grew up the daughter of a great fighter pilot and every day I would wake up and go outside and look up and see my father and his squadron taking off in their F4s, whirring across the sky, and it was the most thrilling thing I still have experienced in my entire life. So when he lost his life in service to this country, it ignited a desire in me to turn all of that tragedy and thrill into one day making the greatest fighter pilot movie of all time."

Since Rogue Squadron was given clearance for lift-off, there's been little movement, save for the addition of Love and Monsters writer Matthew Robinson in June.

News of Rogue Squadron's delay comes days after Big Screen Leaks noted that a Star Wars project was expected to begin production in 2022. However, that project was specifically not Jenkins, Taika Waititi or Kevin Feige's respective films. Star Wars News Net went on to report that the film in question is actually the fabled Old Republic movie and that Rogue Squadron is taking a back seat so its script can be refined. This remains a rumor and has yet to be commented on by Lucasfilm or Disney.
