Days after it was announced Pedro Pascal had signed on for a "key role" in Wonder Woman 2, a new report suggests the film may be looking to cast Star Wars alum Riz Ahmed.

Along with reporting that actor Matt Damon had reportedly passed over a villainous role in the still untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, Jeff Sneider of The Tracking Board revealed on this week's Meet the Movie Press that Ahmed was being eyed for a role in Wonder Woman 2. According to Sneider, there are two male roles being added in the sequel, one being a a slippery con-man type, and the other being an imposing business-man type role. It's unclear just which role Pascal has signed on for, although it's been said to be that of a character named "Rex," however, Ahmed's name was -- at least at one point -- in consideration for one of the two roles.

“From what I understood there were two decently-sized male roles for Wonder Woman 2," Sneider explained. "And really I suppose [Pascal] could play either," he continued, before seeming to suggest Warner Bros. was looking at the actor for what appeared to be the role of the "imposing business-man." However, it appears that the actor's "major" role in Venom may have ultimately prohibited that from happening. After all, while Venom has wrapped production, reshoots will more than likely take place over the summer, conflicting with the shoot on Wonder Woman 2.

Then again, if the studio really wants Ahmed for the role, it's entirely possible they could always work with his schedule. For now, though, Ahmed seems to be out of the running, however, with Warner Bros. having eyed him for a role, it's safe to say they're looking at top talent to join the sequel.
