'Star Wars: Rogue One' Enlists 'Sherlock's' Jonathan Aris

Perhaps overly eager to update his Spotlight page, "Sherlock" actor Jonathan Aris revealed he's been cast in the first "Star Wars" anthology film "Rogue One."

The entry was deleted shortly after it was discovered by BBC News, but not before a screenshot captured that he'll be playing a character named Senator Jebel. No more details were revealed.

Felicity Jones is the only actor officially announced for director Gareth Edwards' standalone film, which focuses on a band of resistance fighters who set out on a daring missions to steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. However, Riz Ahmed, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker have all been rumored for roles.

Aris, who plays the forensic scientist Anderson on "Sherlock," has also appeared on "Wolf Hall," "Spooks" and "Being Human."

"Star Wars: Rogue One" opens Dec. 16, 2016.
