Here's When Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's Final Trailer Releases

After months of speculation, Disney has announced when the final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will air.

Disney's press release confirms rumors the trailer, which is specified as the movie's final, will air during halftime of the New England Patriots vs. New York Jets game on ESPN's Monday Night Football on Monday, October 21. The game is slated to start at 8:15 PM EDT. After the trailer airs, tickets will go on sale.

The first footage from the film teased the return of Emperor Palpatine to the Star Wars Universe after his apparent death at the end of Return of the Jedi. A sizzle reel at D23 then teased Rey going to the Dark Side, though whether that will actually happen or not remains to be seen.

Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film arrives on Dec. 20.
