Rey's mysterious parentage has been a strong source of fan theories ever since the character was introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. While that film hinted Rey was the daughter of someone familiar to the audience, Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi turned the resulting theories on their heads when Kylo Ren revealed Rey's parents were no one of concern. Of course, there's no way of knowing if he was telling the truth or lying, and so the theories and debates continue.
Now, Daisy Ridley has thrown new fuel on the rumor fire, teasing that J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will offer even more information about Rey's parentage.
"[Director J.J. Abrams] did say the question is answered," Ridely told the USA Today, when asked about Rey's parents. "So at the end of the film, you do know what the dealio is."
It seems like The Rise of Skywalkers will finally deliver the answers fans have been waiting for. It's just a question of whether they'll like what they learn.
