In anticipation for the new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer, Disney dropped a new promo to remind fans that it will debut during tonight's Monday Night Football game.
The teaser runs for only 15 seconds, but it does feature some new footage. In addition to the scene where Rey, Finn, Poe and Chewie regroup on the Millennium Falcon's bridge, the promo shows a handful of TIE fighters headed towards a gigantic ice structure floating freely through space. Another scene shows a mighty show of force by the Resistance, with a massive fleet of Resistance ships gathering around the Millennium Falcon.
The movie's final trailer will air during halftime of the New England Patriots vs. New York Jets game on ESPN's Monday Night Football on Monday, October 21. The game is slated to start at 8:15 PM EDT. After the trailer airs, tickets will go on sale.
The first footage from the film teased the return of Emperor Palpatine to the Star Wars Universe after his apparent death at the end of Return of the Jedi. A sizzle reel at D23 then teased Rey going to the Dark Side, though whether that will actually happen or not remains to be seen.
Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film arrives on Dec. 20.
