The end of The Rise of Skywalker is quite divisive among fans, and not just because Rey and Kylo share a kiss after their final battle with Palpatine. There is also disagreement over whether Kylo shared any last words with Rey after he became one with the Force.

The film's novelization settles the debate, confirming that Kylo and Rey do share one final discussion. "A voice came to her through the Force, clear and strong. 'I will always be with you,' Ben said," the novelization reveals.

However, it is Rey's response that will sound familiar to fans of the franchise. "She smiled. Let the truth of it wash over her. 'No one's ever really gone,' she whispered." These last words were uttered by Luke Skywalker at the end of the film's first trailer.
