It's safe to say audiences were divided on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, given its middling critical reception and the lowest box office haul of the sequel trilogy.

With the finale to the Skywalker Saga now available on home video, Honest Trailers has released a brutal takedown of the film. Calling out overcompensation to negative criticism surrounding The Last Jedi, the video completely picks apart Episode IX, dismissing the sequel trilogy as "a hollowed-out shell."

The video then goes on to poke fun at the massive plot holes and inconsistent characterizations in the film being explained away in subsequent interviews by the film's cast and crew, fleshed out in the official novelization and even the seemingly canonical nod to the film in Fortnite.

The Rise of Skywalker earned the lowest score of any of the live-action Star Wars films on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed $1.07 billion worldwide.
