During the Star Wars: Episode IX panel at Star Wars Celebration Chicago, the official title and first trailer for the highly anticipated film were finally released.The Star Wars saga will come to a close with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, a movie that will feature the next generation of intergalactic heroes taking on the ultimate evil in the galaxy. With the title now officially revealed, Disney and Lucasfilm have also released the first teaser poster for the film.

Following the tradition of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi before it, The Rise of Skywalker's first poster features the familiar Star Wars logo against a starry backdrop. The bluish-purple color sets it apart from the yellow and red of Episodes VII and VIII, allowing the newly revealed title to shine.

The trailer, title and poster are sure to put a smile of the faces of Star Wars fans, especially considering Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed the franchise would take a theatrical hiatus following The Rise of Skywalker.

Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film arrives December 20.
