The D23 teaser for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker delivered quite the surprise in the form of a shot of a seemingly villainous Rey wielding a double-bladed red lightsaber, teasing her apparent turn to the Dark Side of the Force.

Immediately, fans began speculating about Rey's allegiances, with some theorizing that it was simply something lifted from a Force-induced vision. However, that may not be the case, as Daisy Ridley herself teased Rey's turn may, in fact, be the real deal.

"I mean, the evidence is on the screen," Ridley told Yahoo Movies. "Take that evidence as you will... But there’s no smoke without fire."

The highly anticipated Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will not just serve as a conclusion to the trilogy that began in J.J. Abram's The Force Awakens but the entire nine-episode Skywalker saga.
