Star Wars: The Clone Wars voice actor Anna Graves has shared her support for the nixed idea that would have seen Daisy Ridley's Rey revealed to be Obi-Wan Kenobi's granddaughter.

Graves voiced Duchess Satine Kryze, a character who had secret romantic ties with Obi-Wan. On Twitter, she shared her thoughts on the idea, admitting how "I was always hoping that Duchess Satine had Obi's child in secret and then... well, more Star Wars Jedi lineage mysteries unfold. Would love to have had Rey as my grandchild #reykenobi"

Graves' comments come on the heels of Ridley, who played Rey in the sequel trilogy, revealing she had no idea who her character would be related to. "At the beginning there was toying with, like, an Obi-Wan connection. And then... there were, like, different versions," she explained. "And then it really went to that she was no one. And then it came to Episode IX, and J.J. [Abrams] pitched me the film and was like, 'Oh yeah, Palpatine's your granddaddy.' And I was like, 'Awesome.' And then two weeks later, he was like, 'Oh, we're not sure.' So, it kept changing." Ridley added how she wasn't given a definitive answer until filming was underway."

In The Rise of Skywalker, it was ultimately revealed that Rey was the granddaughter of Sheev Palpatine, having been fathered from one of the Sith Lord's failed clones.
