A new promo video for the upcoming Star Wars Resistance animated series presents the first extended look at the new cast of characters.

Set just before the events of 2015's The Force Awakens, Star Wars Resistance centers on Kaz, a young spy working for Leia Organa and Poe Dameron. His mission takes him and BB-8 to Colossus, a massive refueling platform that’s become a port for various groups.

Kaz is described as a much better pilot than a spy, although his mission has him keeping an eye on the First Order presence in the area.

As part of his cover, Kaz joins the crew of the Fireball, a racing/stunt ship on the Colossus. His main contact is Yeager, a former Rebellion pilot who is trying to live a quiet life as a mechanic, at least before Kaz showed up. His co-mechanic is Tam, a former racing pilot who lost her ship. Neeku is the only alien on the crew, a technical genius with a big heart (and a little too much naivety). The final member of the cast is Bucket, an older droid that works alongside BB-8.

The show is described by the creators as a series more geared to younger audiences following the fairly heavy Star Wars Rebels. It’s also been confirmed that Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones) and Oscar Issac (Annihlation) will reprise their roles as Captain Phasma and Poe Dameron for the series.

Premiering Oct. 7 on Disney Channel, Star Wars Resistance stars Christopher Seam (Days of Our Lives), Bobby Mounihan (Ducktales), Suzie McGarth(EastEnders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Jim Rash (Community) and Rachel Butera (A Fowl American).
