Star Wars Resistance voice actor Rachel Butera posted to Twitter today a video mocking Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's voice while she testified that United States Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her. Butera is slated to play Star Wars staple Leia Organa in the upcoming series, which will debut in October on the Disney Channel and Disney XD.

Ford today testified to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee that federal judge Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while both were attending a gathering in high school. Kavanaugh, who is United States President Donald Trump's top choice to be the next appointee to the United States Supreme Court, has denied the allegations.

Butera has since deleted the tweet and its accompanying video, in which she wrote: "I can't believe this is my voice, can you???. Dr. Christine Blasey-Vocal Fry-Ford." Several users were quick to question the voice actor's choice to criticize a victim of sexual assault, prompting her to delete the tweet and set her account to private.

Prior to setting her account to private status, Butera issued an apology tweet, claiming she never meant to criticize Ford and that she is, in fact, on her side. The tweet read:

"I was by no means mocking a rape victim I am 100% on Christine Blasy Ford's side! I am just a vocal impressionist and decided to imitate her voice but it was a mistake. I apologize a and I believe ALl women."

The hearing is ongoing at the time of reporting.
