The Star Wars franchise across many platforms is known for its amazing confrontations between characters. Some of the most cinematic moments in the franchise are those where characters' lightsabers clash or one is at the end of the blaster barrel of another.

When fans see a good fight, they know a good fight. And when fans see a letdown of a fight, they definitely know it. Both kinds of confrontation lead to fans wanting to see characters clash again. As long as the characters are alive or there is a gap in the timeline yet to be filled, fans can hope to see those characters at odds again.

10 A Missed Opportunity

Finn Versus Phasma in The Last Jedi

One of the many letdowns of the Sequel Trilogy is the underutilization of Captain Phasma. As a physically imposing and visually interesting character, fans have wanted so much more from her, however in The Last Jedi when we finally get a fight between Finn and Captain Phasma it is cut short by the collapsing ship around them. While many fans may assume that Phasma does not survive the fall, we have seen characters like Maul come back from worse. With the introduction of Beskar spears as a counter to a lightsaber, it would be great to see a war-weary Phasma face off against a lightsaber-wielding Finn in a future film.

9 The Smuggler And The Bounty Hunter

Han Solo and Boba Fett Artwork

Han Solo and Boba Fett are classic rivals of the Original trilogy. However, they share very little screen time in reality. Their confrontation is built over the course of Empire Strikes Back, but in one of the few misses of the Original Trilogy, Boba is taken out unceremoniously on accident by Han.

Fans would love to see a rematch between the smuggler and the bounty hunter. This could be in the time before Episode IV during the era of Solo: A Star Wars Story as Han begins to work with Jabba the Hutt or it could be in the era of The Mandalorian with Boba wanting revenge for his time in the Sarlacc.

8 Master Versus Apprentice

Kylo Ren and Snoke in The Force Awakens

Snoke is one in a sea of underdeveloped characters of the Sequel Trilogy of Star Wars. The Force Awakens sets him up as a main antagonist and master of Kylo Ren. Audiences get the idea that there is a rivalry between the three key players in  The First Order (Snoke, Ren, and General Hux) as the two later members talk to the Supreme Leader's hologram. That setup falls flat however in The Last Jedi when Snoke is taken out without a fight at all. Many fans would surely love to see a real face-off between this master and apprentice. Maybe as Kylo Ren seeks the Sith Wayfinder he comes across one of the other Snoke clones and fans see the real strength of the gold-robed dark side wielder.

7 Not Just A Force Contest

Dooku vs. Yoda fight in Attack of the Clones

Yoda is the original, lovable green warrior who fans finally got see go all out in Attack of the Clones against his old Padawan turned Sith, Count Dooku. The fight has some lightsaber action but mostly consisted of a force contest of the Jedi Master and Sith Lord attempting to one-up each other. Dooku in the end gets away to meddle another day, but fans are left intrigued and wanting more from these powerful force users.

Fans are given a similar Force-heavy showdown between Yoda and Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith, but it is not quite the rematch between the green master and his Serenno apprentice. While Star Wars: The Clone Wars filled in many gaps in the time between Episode II and III, seeing these two clash again would be quite the spectacle.

6 How The Master Protected The Temple

Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 outside the burning Jedi Temple in Star Wars.

In the Last Jedi, fans see moments of Luke Skywalker's true power as a Jedi Master, but much is left to the imagination since his fight with his nephew, Kylo Ren, is nothing more than a force projection. The film similarly only teases at what actually happened when Luke's temple was attacked.

Letting fans see the temple attack in full could not only tell us more about Kylo, the Knights of Ren, and the fate of Luke's other students (like Grogu) but it could also serve as an opportunity for fans to see a real face-off between Kylo Ren as he turns to the dark side and Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, and this time with him yielding his green lightsaber.

5 Tired Of These Clones In This Saga

Mace Windu fighting the Emperor.

Fans have been theorizing about the return of Jedi Master Mace Windu for years. Many thought that he would be the Jedi to rescue Grogu in the final episode of Season 2 of The Mandalorian, but that was not meant to be. If the purple lightsaber-wielding master does return, it would be the perfect opportunity to see a rematch between him and the Phantom Menace himself, Darth Sidious.  There is still much more for fans to learn about the cloning, Snoke, and how Palpatine came back between the time of Return of the Jedi and Rise of Skywalker, and seeing a cyborg Master Windu hunting down clones of the bad guy would be quite the way to answer those questions.

4 The Next Boss Battle

Cal Kestis vader jedi fallen order star wars

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order acts as a great ground-level look into the time immediately following Order 66 and during the reign of the Empire. One of the most thrilling moments in the game is when the player encounters none other than Darth Vader. The encounter is less of a fight and more of a chase, as it is obvious to Cal Kestis that he cannot defeat the Sith Lord. In a sequel for the game as Cal comes into his own as less of a Padawan and more of a Jedi Knight, it would be fun for players to actually face off against the Sith Lord.

3 Revenge For Starkiller Base

Kylo Ren and Finn fight

One confrontation that many fans craved more of was Finn's lightsaber duel with Kylo Ren on the Starkiller Base. The fight left Finn mortally wounded and Rey had to fight off Kylo. Finn and Kylo never share screen time again in the trilogy. Another fight between them during the time between Episode 8 and 9 could be interesting to see as the Resistance seeks to take down the remnants of the First Order.

This match could be blaster versus lightsaber or a spaceship battle. Both Finn and Kylo Ren have shown themselves to be decent pilots, and with the help of Poe or Rose, Finn could put up quite the fight against Ren.

2 Disney+ Ghost Showdown

Star Wars Mandalorian Ahsoka Tano Rosario Dawson

Ahsoka Tano's live-action debut in the sophomore season of The Mandalorian was possibly one of the best moments of the year 2020 for Star Wars fans. Her introduction into the series ushers in a storyline that will continue in her own Disney+ series, Ahsoka. One friend and foe of Ahsoka's that would be great to see go up against her again would be none of than the man that "killed" her master, Darth Vader.

Based on her hesitance to train Grogu in the ways of the Jedi, it would seem that Ahsoka has not quite come to peace with the fate of her master. A force ghost/spirit confrontation between Ahsoka and Darth Vader could be a great way to resolve not only their fight from Star Wars: Rebels but also the emotional tension left by her master's turn to the dark side.

1 Size Matters Not When You're Fighting For Your Adoptive Dad

Grogu held in handcuffs in The Mandalorian

As fans have seen with Yoda in the Prequel Trilogy and Clone Wars, his species has amazing potential for fight scenes. After some time, Grogu could be capable of some thrilling fights. One man that he is surely going to want a rematch with would be Moff Gideon. Gideon not only had him kidnapped and held him as a prisoner, but he threatened the green baby with the Darksaber that Grogu's adoptive father now yields. After years of training with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, fans could see Grogu return to take on the Moff once again.
