As though Star Wars devotees needed anything more to whet their appetites for an animated adaptation, a new fan-made trailer for A New Hope has hit YouTube, leaving viewers begging for more.

The video, which was created and uploaded by Dmitry Grozov, features some stunning '80s-style anime artwork, all set to the real score by John Williams. The trailer also features the voice-over work from the Japanese dub of the film.

Fans are already hyped about the upcoming Star Wars Resistance television series, which itself has a something of a classic anime feel to it. Now this tantalizing glimpse of what a complete Eastern-inspired animated makeover could look like for the original live-action films might just leave fans wanting more. Although they aren't currently on Grozov's channel, one can only hope we see trailers for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in the future.

Director and writer George kicked off the immensely successful Star Wars franchise in 1977 with A New Hope. The series has spawned a variety of films, video games, comics and animated series set in the galaxy far, far away.

As for the official animated series, Star Wars Resistance premieres on the Disney Channel October 7.
