Introduced in Timothy Zahn’s 1991 novel "Heir to the Empire," Rukh was fiercely loyal to the Galactic Empire, which promised to restore his ecologically ravaged home planet of Honoghr. An assassin who was later handpicked by Thrawn to serve as his personal bodyguard, Rukh ultimately turned on the Grand Admiral when he discovered the Empire never intended to save his world. Whether his role in the fourth season of "Star Wars Rebels" mirrors that arc remains to be seen.

Davis' history with "Star Wars" dates back to 1983's "Return of the Jedi," in which he made his film debut as Wicket the Ewok. He reprised the role in a pair of TV movies, and went on to play minor characters in "The Phantom Menace," "The Force Awakens" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." He also appears in an unknown role in the upcoming "Last Jedi."

News of Davis' addition to the cast of "Star Wars Rebels" came just before co-creator Dave Filoni announced that the upcoming fourth season of the Disney XD series will be its last.
