It has been long-established that Grand Admiral Thrawn, the fastidious Imperial officer from “Star Wars Rebels,” has a longstanding interest in alien artefacts —- he can spot a Twi’lek Kalikori instantly, and has all manner of intergalactic knickknacks in and around his office.
Now, the show’s art director, Kilian Plunkett, has confirmed (via io9) that one of those knickknacks is the Holy Grail from “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,” which can be seen in the hallway outside of Thrawn’s office in the recent episode, “Through Imperial Eyes.”
If you can’t quite spot it in the hallway, here is the close-up:
As for how the grail gets from Thrawn’s corridor and down onto Earth, well, that’s what fan fiction is for…
“Star Wars Rebels” recounts the slow decline of the Galactic Republic in the wake of the Empire’s rise, and the subsequent fermenting rebellion. Taking place 14 years after the “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith” and five years before “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope,” the series brings together a ragtag group of rebels who conduct covert operations against Imperial forces.
“Star Wars Rebels” features the voice talents of Freddie Prinze Jr., Taylor Gray, Vanessa Marshall, Tiya Sircar, Steve Blum, Dee Bradley Baker and David Oyelowo. New episodes air on Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on Disney XD.
