With Star Wars Rebels coming to an emotional conclusion last year, fans may have just been gifted a glimpse of two beloved characters’ futures. On Twitter, executive producer Dave Filoni shared an image that appears to show Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren searching for Ezra Bridger, who was lost in hyperspace after thwarting Thrawn’s plans.

In the tweet, Filoni says, “I tried to think of something to sketch for all of you today, but I couldn’t come up with something from the past, so I drew a possible future instead.”

He goes on to explain, “No, this is not a new show, just a drawing I did today for you, the greatest fans there are.” Nonetheless, fans are wondering if future plans of some sort may be in store for the characters.

In the image, Ahsoka is shown wearing the same cloak she dawns in the finale, which, in an interview with i09, Filoni said holds special significance.

“Oh, her entire look is important,” Filoni said. “It’s very important. It’s specific to her journey prior to seeing her at the end of Rebels. But I won’t go into much more detail about that because, in my mind, some of those things, while I understand the general path of it, I don’t understand the specific details as of yet -- because I haven’t had to think about it in detail yet. And I don’t want to lock myself into promising the audience something if I later go into those things and explore,” he said.

Although no official plans have been released about the future of any upcoming Star Wars animated series, the detail paid to Ahsoka’s appearance and the fact that the same cloak appears in today’s tweet lead some to suspect ideas may be brewing.
