In the legendary story of Star Wars, the Skywalker family is right there at the heart of the saga. Young Anakin Skywalker became a Jedi, then fell to the Dark side to become Darth Vader. But he also had two children who would go on to restore peace and balance to the galaxy, even if their father couldn't.

Princess Leia is Anakin and Padme's daughter, and she and her twin brother Luke Skywalker are the best hope for the war-torn galaxy during the great civil war. Princess Leia Organa quickly established herself as a brave, daring, resourceful hero who will never stop fighting for freedom and peace, and she'll need a few people by her side to make that happen. Who would she invite to her team, or not?

10 Team Up With Padme Amidala

padme

If Princess Leia could have met her young mother somehow, the two of them definitely would have teamed up to save the galaxy from tyranny and evil. Leia takes after her mother quite a bit, being a brave soldier and rebel agent who took on entire armies.

Padme was like that too, when she faced the powerful Trade Federation to free Naboo's people from a droid invasion. Leia and Padme have similar goals, methods, and interests, and they'd work smoothly as a team.

9 Reject: Grand Moff Tarkin

Peter Cushing as Tarkin in Star Wars: A New Hope

There are many reasons why princess Leia would refuse to cooperate with Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin on a campaign or even just one mission. For one thing, Tarkin was a high-ranking member of the Galactic Empire, the oppressive regime that Leia was fighting against.

Even if that weren't the case, Tarkin had a distinct "might makes right" attitude that stemmed from his upbringing. Having power was nobler than being merciful, and to him, weaker people deserve to be tread upon. Leia disagrees 100%.

8 Team Up With Rose Tico

rose tico

Rose Tico was a member of the Resistance during the post-Empire days, and she and her sister were ready to give their lives to prevent the First Order from conquering the galaxy to form a brand-new Empire. And Rose has no patience with cowards or defectors.

Princess Leia feels much the same way, and if Padme was Leia's predecessor, then Rose was her successor. Rose was the one who said that fighting to protect something you love is better than fighting to destroy something you hate, a sentiment Leia shares.

7 Reject: IG-88

Droid bounty hunter IG-88 in Star Wars

In the extended universe (Legends) of Star Wars and the canon alike, IG-88 is a ruthless droid bounty hunter. In some versions of the story, IG-88 is ruthlessly determined to use bounty hunting as a way to fund the creation of a droid army to take over the entire galaxy.

In any case, IG-88 is as cold and ruthless as any machine can be, and it is never interested in being a noble hero or giving its life for anyone else's sake. Some machines, like C-3PO, have a warm heart, but not IG-88. Leia would stay far away from this mechanical bounty hunter.

6 Team Up With Yoda

Yoda Dagobah Empire Strikes back star wars

The grand Jedi master himself would get along wonderfully with princess Leia if they ever got the chance to meet. In the story, Luke flew to Dagobah, the swamp world, to meet Yoda. But if Leia had gone instead, she would have been pleased to make Yoda's acquaintance.

RELATED: Star Wars: 10 Jedi Masters Yoda Taught (Who Weren't Luke Skywalker)

Yoda always favors mediation, peace, and understanding over violence or hate, and Yoda's patient, wise ways would augment Leia's heroic personality well. Leia is an action hero like her brother, but she would definitely like Yoda's emphasis on helping others and fostering connections between people, heart to heart.

5 Reject: Dryden Vos

dryden-vos

Dryden Vos was a major crime lord who appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story. In a way, he was like a human Jabba the Hutt, a smug and power-hungry crime boss who had little patience for failure or excuses. He's not afraid to kill the people who let him down.

This is the kind of person Leia is trying to save innocent people from, and she would find Dryden's methods, goals, and personality repulsive and unacceptable. They would quickly become enemies if they ever met.

4 Team Up With Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan smiling

Although Leia and Obi-Wan Kenobi were both aboard the Death Star simultaneously, they never met face to face, unless Leia's infancy counts. But if Leia could meet a younger Obi-Wan, she would definitely see an ally in him.

RELATED: Star Wars: 5 Ways Rey Resembles Luke (& 5 Ways Poe Resembles Han)

Obi-Wan is a classic Jedi, focusing on patience, peace, mediation, defense, and understanding rather than aggression and glory-seeking. Obi-Wan uses the Jedi Code to protect the innocent people of the galaxy from harm, and Leia is absolutely on board with that mission. Their personalities would mesh well, too.

3 Reject: Saw Gerrera

Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera from Star Wars.

On paper, Saw Gerrera would be a fine ally for princess Leia since he is an active part of the galactic rebellion and a staunch opponent of the Empire. The problem is that he's something of an extremist, as a brutal vigilante. He'll do anything to put the hurt on the Empire.

His attitude is more about destroying the Empire and its minions than protecting the people. His actions are shaped around paranoia and revenge rather than protection and unity, so Saw and Leia had best stay out of each other's way.

2 Team Up With Poe Dameron

General Poe Dameron Header

Princess Leia really did work alongside Poe Dameron, the X-wing ace, during the Resistance days, but not directly side by side. Leia was a general, and Poe was a squad leader. But if given a chance, Leia would accept Poe as a partner during any mission.

Poe is a little more reckless than Leia would like. Still, otherwise, he's a good fit because of his positive personality, courage and daring, skills, and fierce determination to protect all that's good and right in the galaxy.

1 Reject: Dr. Chelli Lona Aphra

aphra star wars

In some ways, Dr. Aphra is like Han Solo, but she likes to steal and hack into computers rather than smuggle Kessel spice for Jabba the Hutt. She is a self-centered rogue who looks out for herself, and she will team up with the likes of Darth Vader if it means getting the job done.

Princess Leia is already iffy about teaming up with Han, and Dr. Aphra did all kinds of things even Han wouldn't (such as the aforementioned partnership with Darth Vader). Dr. Aphra isn't without her virtuous side, but as a whole, princess Leia would much rather not fly off into the stars with her.
