Cosplay covers all the various areas of pop culture. Television, movies, comics, anime, manga, and video games are all prime candidates for cosplayers to emulate. Among these various genres, Star Wars properties stand out as possibly the best franchise to cosplay.

Of all the Star Wars characters, there is no female quite as iconic as Princess Leia Organa. Given that a lot of cosplayers are female, this makes Leia a perfect character for cosplay. Here are ten Princess Leia cosplay that rule the galaxy.

10 Kelldar

Notably a massive fan of Princess Leia and Star Wars, cosplayer Kelldar has done a cosplay of almost every one of Princess Leia's outfits. Many of those outfits have been worn by cosplayers from all over. This one, however, was quite unique to Kelldar's catalog.

Almost every cosplayer has worn a slave Leia outfit, while even more cosplayers have worn the traditional flowing white dress with their hair in the two classic buns. Very few have attempted to emulate General Leia from the Star Wars' sequel trilogy. This cosplayer did just that. She was extremely successful at it.

9 Rebelhopecosplay

Rebelhopecosplay is a dedicated cosplayer that only does Princess Leia. There are many great costumes in the many pictures she has posted on her site.

Everything about this outfit comes together really well and pays homage to the character in an interesting way. Although this take on Leia is a little more bare-bones, it is nonetheless just as impressive as the other cosplay on this list.

8 Stacey Rebecca

Stacey Rebecca decided to emulate an image of Princess Leia from the comic books. She reached her goal perfectly, getting every single detail exactly right.

This version of Leia stood out as something truly special when it first debuted. The classic whites that Leia often is known for wearing are in the bottom layer of the costume. This is juxtaposed with a more brown/yellow jacket and gloves consistent with rebel fighters. Put together, it makes for a very badass outfit for one badass princess to wear as she heads into battle.

7 Riki 'Riddle' LeCotey

Riddle has the best hair of any of these cosplayers. Seriously, if the cosplayer's face were to be photoshopped out and replaced with Carrie Fisher's, no one would be able to spot the difference.

In addition to that, the nice, long flowing white number is a perfect recreation of Princess Leia Organa from her debut in the very first Star Wars movie, A New Hope. The handcuffs and stormtroopers on either side of the princess make for a very nice touch.

6 Kelldar

Yet another fantastic piece by Star Wars aficionado and huge Princess Leia Organa fan known as Kelldar. This is Leia's outfit as a rebel leader, serving another demonstration of the character's badass nature.

Kelldar yet again proves that this female character is deserving of respect for her great qualities, such as Leia's inspirational leadership and relentless ambition.

5 Yaya Han

Every cosplayer imaginable has done their own take on slave Princess Leia. At this point, it has become a little overdone. When given to a professional cosplayer, however, often this tired outfit can be transformed into the instant classic that it used to be.

Professional cosplayer Yaya Han did just that with her rendition of the slave Leia outfit. Everything about the costume is absolutely perfect when comparing it to the original Star Wars: Return of the Jedi outfit. The colors of Han's outfit just have a really nice way of popping out to anyone who sees it.

4 Princess Chris Cosplay

Princess Chris is known for genderbending with all kinds of different Disney characters. Fort the Star Wars universe, he chose Princess Leia as the female character that he would like to replicate.

Often times, Chris Calfa tries to take the Princess costumes and give them much more of a male vibe to switch things up. For Leia, he replaced the dress with pants and the rest is history. Typically, since the first Star Wars movie, Leia has often chosen to dress a little more tactically, so this version of the costume isn't as much of a departure as some people might think.

3 Lady Lomax

One of the best Leia moments is in The Return of the Jedi on the moon Endor. While there, she aids in the defeat of several Empire soldiers while also playing a huge role in winning over the Ewoks as allies.

Lady Lomax is clearly a very skilled cosplayer based on this image. Her recreation of the Endor camo was spot on, along with the helmet Leia wore on that forest moon. She also embodied the fact that Leia was forced to be careful and quiet during her time there due to the Empire presence.

2 Ivy95

First off, Ivy95 nails Leia's hair. Every cosplayer has a slightly different spin on the two buns, but not everyone gets it exactly right. Ivy95 certainly does. From the hair to the two blasters, everything works together really well to help sell that this is indeed Leia Organa from the Star Wars franchise.

Also, there are a few other nice touches in the design of this costume. Namely, those touches are the little C3PO and R2D2 hanging off of her belt. While not a part of the actual character's costume, they compliment the overall aesthetic greatly.

1 Catharina

Now, this is a great look at the classic Star Wars character. We've seen cosplays of Leia in almost every outfit that the character had worn in the films. But what about something that didn't happen in the films? What about a dark Leia?

Catharina is a very talented cosplayer who had that exact thought. She wanted to show off her version of a Leia that had been seduced to the dark side. Darth Vader did threaten Luke with the prospect of turning his sister to the dark side in Return of the Jedi. After seeing this, its hard not to wish that she had crossed over.
