Star Wars fans don't need to stress about finding the perfect name for their furry friends thanks to a new list full of commonly used Star Wars names out of their database of over 500,000 pets.
In honor of Star Wars Day, Trupanion, a leading pet insurance company, searched its database of 500,000 pets and found top Star Wars-themed pet names included names of more well-known characters: Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Lando and Kylo/Kylo Ren. Other names included in the list were Ewok, after the fictional species that resemble teddy bears, and Jedi.
The company also found some Star Wars fans got rather creative with their pet names and complied a list of the top creative Star Wars-inspired pet names. This list included names such as Bark Vader (Darth Vader), Luke Skywhisker (Luke Skywalker), Boba Fetch (Boba Fett), Chewbarka (Chewbacca), Empur Pawpatine (Emperor Palpatine) and Lando Catrissian (Lando Calrissian).
In 2015, Trupanion pitched its insurance coverage directly to Star Wars fans in a short post on its blog, and in 2019, released a list titled "Ten Galactic Cat Star Wars Names." The list mentioned a few extra character names, including Finn, Rey and Jabba the Hut.
With these lists, fans can look forward to finding the perfect name for their new pals, just in time for Star Wars Day.
