Oscar Isaac, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Poe Dameron, may be trading in his X-Wing flight suit for a Danish crown if he decides to take on Shakespeare's iconic role of Hamlet.

Broadway.com is reporting that Oscar Isaac ("Inside Llewyn Davis," "Ex Machina,") has been offered the role of Hamlet by Tony Award winning director Sam Gold. If Isaac accepts, he will play the tragic prince of Denmark at Theatre for a New Audience in Brooklyn, New York.

Isaac would be joining a legacy of actors who have previously portrayed Hamlet on the stage, including Benedict Cumberbatch ("Sherlock," "Doctor Strange,") David Tennant ("Doctor Who," "Broadchurch,") and Jude Law ("The Holiday," "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.")

Isaac can next be seen in "X-Men: Apocalypse," which opens on May 27.
