Obi-Wan Kenobi will follow the Jedi Master during his period of exile on Tatooine between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. At Disney's Investor Day presentation in late 2020, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy officially confirmed that McGregor's sequel trilogy co-star Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, setting the stage for a rematch between the two former friends.

Joining McGregor and Christensen will be fellow prequel trilogy alums Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Owen and Beru Lars. Also on board are Star Wars newcomers Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. However, while their roles remain a mystery, it's been hinted that Kang could play Rebels' notorious Inquisitor the Fifth Brother.
