A new report regarding Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars series could add further fuel to the young Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa fire.

According to The Illuminerdi, the series is currently in search of both a male and female actor in the age range of 8-11 to play a pair of "precocious" twins. Luke and Leia, of course, are twin siblings who'd fall in that age range during the show's post-Revenge of the Sith/pre-A New Hope setting.

After a false rumor surfaced that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series had been canceled, it was revealed that the show had been put on indefinite hold while Lucasfilm searched for new writers to replace Hossein Amini, as Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy was reportedly unhappy with the scripts. It was then revealed that the show's planned six-episode run had been cut to four.

As for the reason behind the overhaul, it's believed the story was too similar to The Mandalorian, with McGregor's Obi-Wan serving as a protector to a young Luke, and possibly even a young Leia -- not unlike how Pedro Pascal's Mandalorian became a parental figure to The Child/Baby Yoda.

Should this latest casting report prove true, though, the series could still have a place for the children of Anakin Skywalker, who is also rumored to make an appearance.
