A Star Wars/My Neighbor Totoro Mashup Confirms Porgs Are Adorable

Porg-mania is reaching a fever pitch. The adorable creatures have been the subject of two short animated videos, with one set aboard the Millennium Falcon and the other showing the Porgs mischievously harassing BB-8. Porgs are also central to a new image that mashes up characters from the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Studio Ghibli's 1988 film My Neighbor Totoro to make "My Neighbor Poporgo."

The piece comes from illustrator Michael Pasquale, who tweeted it out. The image draws from the poster for My Neighbor Totoro, casting Rey as Satsuki and a porg as Totoro. It also features an appearance from BB-8. A look at Pasquale's website, 800 Pound Productions, reveals art covering everything from Star Wars to superheroes like Batman and Captain America.

Set in postwar Japan, My Neighbor Totoro tells the story of Satsuki and Mei, two young girls who befriend a spirit called Totoro. Many critics regard the film as one of the best animated movies of all-time.
