It was created by Kenneth Hampton of California-based Hampton's Hand-crafted Lightsabers, who describes the device as "the hardest build I ever had, mostly because I wanted to make sure I got it right."

Fans of Star Wars and Doctor Who will likely agree that he did with the meticulously detailed Time Lord Custom Lightsaber, which boasts light effects, moving parts and sound effects that will be familiar to devotees of both franchise.

"This saber is one of a kind and will never be made again," Hampton explains. "However, we will do variations that will leave us some creative license so we can get you something similar while maintaining both as a one-of-a-kind."
