WARNING: The following article contains spoilers Star Wars: Age of Resistance - General Hux #1, by Tom Taylor, Leonard Kirk, Cory Hamscher, GURU-eFX and Travis Lanham, on sale now.

In 2016, Kylo Ren actor Adam Driver appeared in a Saturday Night Live sketch in which his character disguised himself as a First Order radar technician named Matt in a parody of Undercover Boss. Three years later, "Matt the Radar Technician" remains wildly popular among Star Wars fans, but one person who's not too fond of him -- or Kylo Ren, for that matter -- is General Armitage Hux.

Star Wars: Age of Resistance - General Hux #1 begins with a glimpse into the eponymous First Order officer's childhood, in which he's belittled by not only his father but by an officer named Admiral Brooks. Fast-forward to the era of The Force Awakens, and we find Hux and Kylo Ren as the sole survivors after their ship's hyperdrive mysteriously shuts down.

After surviving the crash, Hux and Kylo encounter a former guard from Alderaan named Bylsma. He aids the two First Order officers in calling for help, and, after their support arrives, Hux leaves him stranded, saying they'll use the planet for target practice when Starkiller Base becomes operational. Hux informs Supreme Leader Snoke that he knows who was responsible for sabotaging the ship. Not only that, he believes the attack was aimed specifically at him.

That brings us back to Admiral Brooks, whom Hux seems to believe is the saboteur... at least that's what he tells Snoke and Captain Phasma. In reality, Hux simply uses Brooks as a patsy so he can exact his revenge for the abuse he suffered as a child. Meanwhile, he informs Brooks that the true culprit "has already been dealt with. A radar technician." Admiral Brooks is blamed due to being the technician's superior officer, so Hux takes Phasma's rifle and shoots at him several times before pulling the trigger for the killing blow just as the comic ends.

Although Hux stops short of calling out "Matt the Radar Technician" by name, one can't help but assume this is a consciously inserted Easter egg by writer Tom Taylor. Then again, Kylo Ren was on that ship, too, so if Matt truly is the mastermind behind the attack, it's going to take a reality show far beyond the scope of Undercover Boss to unravel that mystery.
