Darth Vader instilled fear in the inhabitants of the Star Wars universe for years. However, there was one man even Vader feared: the diabolical Emperor Palpatine. Master and apprentice would often bump heads, and now it's been upped to a new level in Star Wars: Darth Vader #6.

The synopsis of the issue says that Palpatine will conduct "Vader's next lesson" in order to teach his pupil a lesson. The new Darth Vader title is set after the events of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, in which Vader discovered that Luke was his long lost son. He has embarked on a mission to punish those responsible for hiding the truth, which has drawn Palpatine's notice.

Ironically, this would not be the first time the two clashed. During Charles Soule and Giuseppe Camucoli's run on Darth Vader, Vader lashed out with his powers when he learned he had killed his wife Padme and injured Palpatine in the process. Palaptine issued a dire warning: "Touch me again and I will finish what Kenobi cannot." Ultimately, Vader would turn against his master and hurl Palpatine down the second Death Star's reactor shaft in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
