Since its' announcement in 2015, many Star Wars fans have been eagerly awaiting the enigmatic Episode IX in the legendary film franchise, as well as wondering what the film's full title will be. And, in his own joking manner, series star Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the saga, has the perfect answer to peoples' questions about it.
In response to a fan asking him about the title for Episode IX on Twitter, Hamill replied, "EXCLUSIVE: It's called #Episode IX," having a laugh with his followers while also keeping the film's title under wraps. Naturally, some fans joined in on the fun with their own responses to the tweet.
While it's still joking on Hamill's part, it could also be seen as Hamill doing his job to keep the title from leaking out to the public before next year. Given the methods some fans will use and the lengths they'll go to in learning and revealing spoilers to others, one can't fault Hamill for being cautious with when it comes to online media.
However, even when keeping such matters a secret, Hamill still manages to have fun with his fans and followers, while succeeding in heightening their anticipation for the forthcoming final chapter in the Star Wars Skywalker saga.
Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode IX stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E.
