Mark Hamill has been known for his sense of humor online, as well as his emotional side. With today being Father's Day, he's seized the opportunity to combine them both by wishing Darth Vader the best on his special day.Hamill tweeted "#HappyFathersDay" with an image of Darth Vader's helmet accompanying it. It certainly won the approval of fans on Twitter, especially those who still hold deep reverence for the relationship between Luke Skywalker and his dad, the Jedi formerly known as Anakin Skywalker.RELATED: Star Wars Veteran Mark Hamill Has Never Met His On-Screen Mother

For those who don't know -- and we assume that's a minority -- Anakin turned his back on the Jedi and became the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine's military enforcer. However, just as he turned to the Dark Side, he unknowingly sired two kids, Luke and Leia (Carrie Fisher), who rebelled against him and the Empire. In The Empire Strikes Back, the paternal link came as a huge shock to moviegoers and remains one of the biggest reveals in modern cinema and pop culture to this day.

Luke would eventually redeem his dying father at the end of Return of the Jedi, although with Kylo Ren killing both Han Solo and Luke (indirectly) in the new movies, let's just say that Father's Day isn't something to really be celebrated in the Skywalker household.

Hamill, however, does have a shot at making his next Mother's Day experience all the better, as his on-screen mom, Natalie Portman (who played Padme Amidala in the prequel trilogy) wants to finally unite with the Jedi Master. Until that happens though, all we at CBR can do is wish our audience a very Happy Father's Day.
