Star Wars: The Mandalorian has added a longtime Disney star to its roster: Ming-Na Wen.

At D23 2019's Disney Legends Ceremony, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star was honored for her long career in film and television. During her acceptance, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger announced she will be part of The Mandalorian. However, no details about her role were revealed at this time.

"I was so excited when Bob announced it because I've been waiting to talk about it," she told Syfy Wire later. "You don't understand! That is a Star Wars geek girl's dream come true!" Asked for more details about the role, she added, "I certainly don't play a farmer. Let's put it that way."

Given her action background, Wen should be a perfect fit for The Mandalorian, which follows a lone gunfighter after the fall of the Galactic Empire. After all, the Mulan actor performs many of her own stunts on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

In addition to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Mulan, Wen is known for her roles in Joy Luck Club and ER. She also played Chun-Li in Street Fighter. Her voice credits include Todd McFarlane's Spawn, The Batman, Phineas and Ferb, Marvel Rising and Sofia the First.

The series takes place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, decades prior the current Star Wars sequel trilogy. Fans can likely expect to see an era of change depicted in The Mandalorian, as the galaxy struggles to shift and adapt to the sudden fall of the tyrannical Empire.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte. The series debuts Nov. 12 on Disney+, the same date as the streaming service's official launch.
