Disney+ has released the first trailer for Season 2 of the platform's flagship Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

The trailer begins with a shot of the Razor Crest flying through space as we hear voiceovers from Season 1. This is intercut with various shots of Season 2, including new faces such as a surprise appearance from WWE Superstar Sasha Banks.

As the first live-action Star Wars show and one of Disney+'s biggest selling points ahead of its launch, expectations for The Mandalorian were high heading into the series premiere. However, given the immense popularity of The Child (aka Baby Yoda) and the series' 15 Emmy nods, anticipation for Season 2 is arguably higher, especially after the revelation of Moff Gideon being in possession of the Darksaber -- something actor Giancarlo Esposito says will play heavily into the sophomore season.

"You'll see more of the Darksaber, you'll get the explanation of this ancient weapon to the modern world, a collapsed world," Esposito explained in July. "Where did this saber come from and how was it revived? It's a key in our second season, which will be back sooner than later."

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Taika Waititi and Emily Swallow. Season 2 premieres Oct. 30 on Disney+.
