Aside from Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi may have one of the most tragic stories in Star Wars history. Forced to train a Padawan before he felt ready, Kenobi rose through the ranks and was a loyal Jedi and good friend to Anakin. However, when Order 66 was enacted, and Anakin fell to the Dark Side, Obi-Wan lost everything. He forced himself into exile to protect Skywalker's children and even cut himself off from The Force. Following the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and the events of the Original Trilogy, it's more likely that in his exile, he not only returned to his roots but also trained two young Padawans.

The most obvious of the two was easily Luke Skywalker. While he wasn't his master long, Kenobi imparted wisdom about The Force that few had known. He also aided Luke from the afterlife in making the right choices and guiding him when he felt at his lowest. Obi-Wan may not have been the most present Jedi Master to Luke, but he gave him the knowledge to allow Luke to have a powerful connection to The Force. This was mainly due to his willingness to let Luke have connections with others, feel emotions and not force the Jedi Code on him too heavily. What came of it was a new breed of Jedi that knew of the rules but also knew how far he could bend them without succumbing to the Dark Side.

While brief, Kenobi's other apprentice, albeit unofficial, was none other than Leia Organa. While she was still a small child, she carried a strong conviction and drive to do the right thing. In that respect, she was very much like her mother, Padmé.

In Obi-Wan Kenobi, the jaded Jedi Master kept her safe after being kidnaped and served as a literal knight from the fairy tales, saving the captured princess. He may not have taught her the ways of The Force, but Kenobi taught her his way of thinking in terms of patience and doing what's right, even if it may mean his end. However, Kenobi also emboldened Leia's regal and leadership qualities and likely played a hand in creating the strong and dutiful princess seen in the Original Trilogy.

Even after Obi-Wan died, his impact on the siblings continued on in their own training sessions. For Luke, he was the voice of reason in his head when succumbing to the Dark Side was easiest. Meanwhile, for Leia, he was the idol she strove to be, best shown by her excitement when Luke rescued her on the Death Star and said Ben was there. This was likely why she named her son after him, as even decades after their meeting, he was still a defining point in her life. However, what Kenobi had also done was recreated his bond with Anakin, but with more promising results.

Star Wars Leia Jedi Training

Luke had a similar childhood to Anakin in that he grew up on Tatooine and started training when he was older. He was also met with the same obstacles as his father, and the rage he felt could be seen during his final battle with Vader. Obi-Wan had trained another Anakin, symbolized by him wielding his father's lightsaber first and later wearing dark colors as a Jedi.

For Leia, Kenobi's influence, compounded with her natural qualities, created a version of Kenobi that served as Luke's conscience and guiding light when he needed someone close to him to talk to. She was also regal in her own right, creating a lightsaber hilt reminiscent of Obi-Wan's but with a rose gold finish, as if to symbolize how regal she saw him as a child. Luke's lightsaber, on the other hand, was a near recreation of Obi-Wan's, symbolizing the grounded hero he saw as a teenager.

Thanks to his influence, Kenobi inadvertently created Anakin and Obi-Wan 2.0 with Luke and Leia to battle against the Empire, but rather than have one fall and the other go into exile, they worked together and lifted each other even when they were down. Their relationship became a loving bond as real siblings, much like Anakin and Obi-Wan's brotherly bond, but instead of separating as their relationship grew, they only grew stronger and ultimately saved the galaxy.
