WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars #13 by Charles Soule, Ramon Rosanas, Rachelle Rosenberg and VC's Clayton Cowles, on sale now.

Han Solo has been frozen in carbonite and a number of interested parties are on the hunt for Boba Fett so that they can claim Solo's body for their own. Among those hunting is none other than Han's closest friends. Luke and Chewbacca just got word that Boba Fett was recently seen on one of the most dangerous planets in the Star Wars universe, Nar Shaddaa. Luke is more than a little cautious since he hopes this trip progresses more smoothly than his last trip to the Smuggler's Moon.

Star Wars #13 depicts Luke's return trip to Nar Shaddaa as he searches for Solo. Luke was aware of the dangers that lurk on the Smuggler's Moon and warned Chewie that they should be as quick as possible. Luckily, Chewbacca has a friend on the moon who directs their attention to the arena where Boba Fett was seen competing in War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha by Soule, Steve McNiven, Laura Martin and Travis Lanham. Luke questioned the receptionist at the arena which caught unwanted attention.

Nar Shaddaa Luke and Chewie

The Kanji caught wind of Luke asking about Boba and were mad that Fett had killed their previous champion. They tell Luke and the gang that they are now the property of the Hutts of Nar Kanji. This is all too familiar to Luke, as he became a possession of a Hutt during his last visit to Nar Shaddaa. The Rebels rejected Kanji's demands which led to a firefight just outside of the arena. Luke was able to use his lightsaber and force powers to create an exit route for the Rebels to reach the Millenium Falcon. Once aboard, they quickly flew away. While on the Falcon, Threepio informed Luke that the Rebel Fleet just received a message from someone claiming to have possession of Han Solo. Even though their most recent trip to Nar Shaddaa included some bloodshed, it still was not as traumatic as Luke's original trip to the Smuggler's Moon.

In 2015's Star Wars #8 by Jason Aaron, Stuart Immonen, Wade Von Grawbadger, Justin Ponsor and Chris Eliopoulos, Luke is searching for somebody that can bring him to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Luke decides the best way to find somebody is to go into the nastiest looking bar on the Smuggler's Moon and ask for a pilot. This goes south when the entire bar begins to fight with Luke. Luke's lightsaber is stolen during the fight but he is able to recover it a short while later.

Unfortunately for Luke, he recovers his lightsaber right in front of Grakkus the Hutt, the crime overlord of Nar Shaddaa. Grakkus is a collector of Jedi artifacts and decided that Luke and his lightsaber were the perfect pieces to add to his collection. Luke is still fairly raw in his training and tries to fight back against Grakkus but is subdued by his Magnaguards. Grakkus then passed off Luke to a trainer in the arena.

Grakkus and Luke

The trainer could feel the strength of the Force in Luke but questioned his lightsaber abilities. Luke was then sent into the arena to battle a terrifying creature that was sent in from Mustafar. Luke was savagely beaten by the creature but was luckily saved at the last minute. The arena trainer was a secret operative for the Empire and decided it was time to turn on Grakkus. Han, Leia and Chewie were also looking for Luke on Nar Shaddaa and made it to the arena with perfect timing. They grabbed Luke and escaped before the Empire could collect Skywalker.

Luke learned a lot during his initial trip to Nar Shaddaa. He discovered how rough the Smuggler's Moon was to outsiders but picked up some new lightsaber skills in the arena. Luke's confidence and abilities would grow tenfold between his two trips. He knew what to expect of the Moon and planned for trouble. Luke was also much stronger during his second trip. He was beaten and imprisoned during his first visit but had no problem facing off against a crime syndicate while searching for Han.

Luke escaped Nar Shaddaa to fight another day but the hunt for Han Solo still remains. Now that they have escaped one of the most dangerous places in the galaxy, there's no telling where their next mission will take them. Luke is still learning and growing as a Jedi. He will need to gather as much experience as possible for his inevitable fight against the full force of the Empire.
