Pre-production on Jon Favreau's eagerly anticipated Star Wars live-action series is in full swing, and the latest photos of the constructed sets hint at the upcoming show's location.The leaked images tease a desert-like setting with architecture featuring a similar design to franchise mainstay Tatooine which also had visual similarities to the The Force Awakens' setting of Jakku.RELATED: Jon Favreau’s Star Wars Series Cost-Per-Season Could Rival Game of Thrones’

The familiar desert planet had been seen in every single entry of the original and prequel Star Wars trilogies with the exception of 1980's The Empire Strikes Back.

Set photos from the series' Southern California production location first surfaced online over the weekend along with reports that principal photography was expected to begin within the week.

With the upcoming series expected to take place between the events of The Force Awakens and 1983's Return of the Jedi, a return to Tatooine or look at the Battle of Jakku could very well be part of the series' story.

The currently untitled Star Wars live-action series, created by Jon Favreau, does not currently have a release date or announced cast but is expected to premiere on Disney’s upcoming premium streaming service sometime in late 2019.
