Kylo Ren might be getting a new helmet in Star Wars: Episode IX.

Kylo Ren's helmet has proven to be a great physical sign of his character and growth over the course of the new Star Wars films. He was introduced in The Force Awakens wearing a helmet that was evocative of Darth Vader, hinting at his motivation to embrace his grandfather’s legacy and become a Sith warrior like him. But his anger and self-loathing caused him to smash the helmet to pieces in The Last Jedi, echoing one of the themes of the movie -- letting the past die.

Now, rumors from Making Star Wars suggest that Kylo will don a new unique version of his armor in the next Star Wars film. The helmet will reportedly be reconstructed and have a “very corrupted look,” according to the post. It will still be reminiscent of Darth Vader, but bring more of Kylo's personality to the look as well.

However, this is still only an unconfirmed rumor. We’ll just have to wait and see if Kylo actually does get a new helmet when Star Wars: Episode IX comes out next year.

Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode IX stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film is scheduled to open on Dec. 20, 2019.
