Star Wars Kids Debuts First Animated Galaxy of Adventures Shorts

The first set of animated shorts as part of LucasFilm's Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures have officially premiered through the studio's Star Wars Kids channel on YouTube.

The new line of animated shorts was announced earlier this week as an all-age friendly way to retell classic moments from across the Star Wars franchise and introduce the series' fan-favorite characters using the dialogue, soundtrack, and sound effects straight from the scenes they are adapting. The first short, featuring Luke Skywalker learning of his Jedi destiny from Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original 1977 is below.

There are currently nine episodes of Galaxy of Adventures available online now on the YouTube channel ranging from providing background of important characters and elements of the franchise to other animated recreations of classic scenes including Luke's escape from the Wampa on Hoth as first depicted in 1980's The Empire Strikes Back.

The newly released animated shorts is part of a planned wave of original Star Wars content from LucasFilm in anticipation of the release of Star Wars: Episode IX in theaters everywhere in December 2019.
