Earlier this week, a report indicated that Star Wars: Episode IX would feature a time jump. That reported cited a statement by actor John Boyega in Empire Magazine. However, Boyega now says he doesn't remember the interview taking place.

"I don’t even remember having the interview," Boyega wrote on Twitter in answer to a question about the time jump. "I’m tired it’s been a long few months."

Although the magazine reported Boyega as saying there would be a time jump, it didn't use a direct quotation, which has some doubting whether one will actually occur. However, Boyega's statement here in no way denies that there will be one. Instead, it sounds more like the actor is attempting to avoid answering the question, indicating that the production may not yet ready to confirm the time jump to the general public.

Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode IX stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film is scheduled to open on Dec. 20, 2019.
