Of all the Jedi to appear in both the original Star Wars trilogy and the prequels, it is hard to imagine any who has had as much of an impact as Grandmaster Yoda. The small green-skinned Jedi taught Luke Skywalker about the ways of the Force after his previous teacher, Obi-Wan Kenobi, died at the hands of Darth Vader (with Vader/Anakin and Obi-Wan being the other two Jedi who stood out in both trilogies).

Some people might think Luke was Yoda's only pupil, but to quote the Jedi Master himself, "no, there is another." In fact, there were quite a number of Jedi that he taught, including some of the most powerful Jedi in the entire Order.

10 Count Dooku

count-dooku

Long before Count Dooku fell to the dark side of the Force and became a Sith Lord, he was one of the most skilled lightsaber duelists of the Jedi Order. One reason for this was that he trained under Master Yoda.

While Yoda was considered one of the greatest lightsaber combatants who ever lived, Dooku used the Form II style of lightsaber combat, Makashi, which allowed him to easily defeat other lightsaber duelists in one-on-one combat

9 Mace Windu

One of the greatest Jedi who ever lived, Mace Windu was Grandmaster of the Jedi High Council, a position also held by a friend of his known for speaking in a unique style.

Mace invented his own version of Form VII of lightsaber combat, known as vaapad, which allowed him to channel the dark side without ever succumbing to it. On top of all of this, he could see the weaknesses in anything with his Shatterpoint technique and was believed by many to be the Chosen One.

8 Kit Fisto

While not quite as powerful as Master Windu or Count Dooku, Kit Fisto was still a skillful member of the Jedi Council. His lightsaber skill was proficient enough that he survived longer than two of his fellow Jedi Masters when trying to arrest Emperor Palpatine at the end of the Clone Wars.

Despite this, Kit was known for his ability to laugh and take joy in things, having a sense of humor that could be light-hearted yet still full of wisdom.

7 Ikrit

Ikrit might have looked like an adorable little critter (and he was even mistaken for a pet at one point), but he was actually a powerful Jedi Master.

Interestingly, Ikrit went to exile for many centuries and thus was absent from the Clone Wars and the Jedi Purge. Anakin Solo (the son of Han and Leia) encountered him on Yavin-4. Ikrit befriended Anakin. He eventually died during the war with the Yuuzhon Vong. But long before his exile, this adorable Kushiban was trained by Yoda.

6 Ki-Adi-Mundi

The four most powerful members of the Jedi High Council during the Clone Wars period were Yoda, and three of his students: Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ki-Adi-Mundi. While Mace and Obi-Wan are known to even casual fans, Ki-Adi-Mundi should not be underestimated.

He sensed Order 66 before it had gone into full effect, allowing him to predict his Clones soldiers’ betrayal a moment before they turned on him. Interestingly, Ki-Adi-Mundi was one of the only Jedi who was allowed to marry and have children.

5 Anakin Skywalker

Anakin Skywalker was the Chosen One, destined to bring order to the Force. Of course, he eventually fell to the dark side and became Darth Vader.

Interestingly, he is the only person on this list trained after they died. In the new canon material, Yoda taught Anakin while both of them were Force ghosts.

4 Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano was predominantly trained by Anakin Skywalker, bonding with her mentor as the two fought together in the Clone Wars.

Of course, there were a number of other mentors in her life before she met Anakin. Her biggest influence was probably Plo Koon, who found her and retrieved her from her home planet, but as a youngling, Ahsoka had the same teacher as all younglings during the period she grew up in the Jedi Temple: Master Yoda.

3 Oppo Rancisis

Oppo Rancisis was born on the planet Thisspias, where his mother was the Blood Monarch who ruled over the world. He was one of the top strategists during the Clone Wars and so remained on Coruscant throughout the majority of the war, from where he could organize troop movements.

Given his very weird appearance, it is understandable that Oppo did not have a lot of screentime, but he learned to wield the Force from the best teachers in the galaxy. His main teacher was a different member of Yoda's species, Yaddle, but at one point, Oppo also studied under Grandmaster Yoda.

2 Cin Drallig

It is a pity that Cin Drallig did not get to play a prominent role in either the prequel films or The Clone Wars series because he really was an incredible character. Cin was a Jedi Battlemaster who was in charge of all the security at the Jedi Temple.

During Order 66, he personally fought against Darth Vader and died trying to protect the younglings in the Temple. In just a few appearances, he carved his legacy into galactic history, wielding his lightsaber to the very end.

1 Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan exemplary

When Luke was freezing in the cold on Hoth, he was contacted by Obi-Wan Kenobi's Force ghost, who told him "You will go to the Dagobah system. There, you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me."

The exact nature of Obi-Wan's training with Yoda is never explained in the films, as he was Qui-Gon Jin's padawan in The Phantom Menace. Interestingly, like Ahsoka Tano, he was only trained by Yoda when he was youngling, so his longest-lasting influence was actually Master Qui-Gon's tutelage. Still, Yoda's instruction clearly left an indelible mark, and when Obi-Wan guided Luke to Yoda, the shriveled nine-hundred-year-old former Grandmaster passed on his knowledge to Luke, who would become the greatest Jedi Master the galaxy had ever seen.
