There are few things in the Star Wars franchise that have transcended the property and become so instantly recognizable and as iconic as the lightsaber. From the design to the sound to the battles performed with them, they are a pillar of what makes Star Wars, with lightsaber scenes so often the highlight of the piece of content they are in.

There are a plethora of gorgeous blades that are so connected to their owner and are so crucial and meaningful to the character; however, there are some Jedi who lose their lightsaber, whether by clumsiness or by no fault of their own.

10 Leia Organa

To say that Leia Organa lost her lightsaber may be a bit harsh as well as a bit of a stretch, she did after all give her lightsaber to Luke when she stopped training to become a Jedi.

However, to be nitpicky, Leia gave her lightsaber to Luke, who kept it safe but went into isolation with the saber. Leia lost Luke and, in turn, lost her lightsaber, with it only being found by Rey as Luke led her to it.

9 Adi Gallia

Adi Galia was a Jedi at the time of the Clone War and is a part of a few episodes. Most notably, teaming up with Obi-Wan against Maul and Savage Opress, where she met her end.

She is a Jedi who fans only get to see with her second lightsaber. It is unknown how exactly she lost her first lightsaber, but it was before the Invasion of Naboo, constructing her second one following this.

8 Cal Kestis

Star Wars JediFallen Order is one of the best things to come out of the new canon under the Disney banner, with its protagonist Cal Kestis helping make the game so fantastic.

Cal loses his first lightsaber after it falls down an elevator shaft as he attempts to make his way out of his Master's command ship the Albedo Brave following Order 66. Constructing his second lightsaber out of his old Master Taro Japal's saber and Cere Junda's saber is a highlight of the game.

7 Ezra Bridger

Rebels is an unbelievably great show, and maybe the most underappreciated aspect of the new canon, and one of the central protagonists, Ezra Bridger, has a beautiful arc across the four seasons.

Ezra loses his lightsaber in an insanely badass way in the incredible episode "Twilight of the Apprentice: Part 2" when Darth Vader arrives on Malachor, and with a swing of his lightsaber destroys Ezra's blue lightsaber/blaster concoction.

6 Barriss Offee

Barriss Offee was a character who got sprinkled throughout The Clone Wars, usually with Ahsoka as audiences get to see their friendship blossom before Offee's eventual betrayal and apparent turn to the Dark Side.

Barriss is another character who it is a tad misleading to say lost her lightsabers as she never misplaced it or had it destroyed, rather it was taken from her by Anakin Skywalker before their duel when he figured out it was her behind everything for which Ahsoka was getting framed.

5 Yoda

Arguably the most powerful Jedi in the canon, and undoubtedly the wisest and oldest Jedi to have lived to our knowledge, Yoda is an icon of the Star Wars franchise.

The original trilogy set him up to have either lost his lightsaber or have it stored away; audiences find out it is the former, with him losing his shoto blade during his battle with Darth Sidious on Coruscant.

4 Ahsoka Tano

There are few characters who are currently as popular and whose journey is as excellent as Ahsoka Tano, a character who started off pretty hated by the fans, before swiftly changing their perception.

Like Leia, Ahsoka's lightsabers never became lost in a traditional sense, as she voluntarily gave them away, twice in fact. The first time she left them with the Jedi Order, and the second time she left them with the graves of clones to appear dead. Vader owns those blades now, with Ahsoka finding a new pair soon after.

3 Anakin Skywalker

Anakin gets criticized by his Master for not taking good enough care of his lightsaber, eventually proving that to be true when the blade gets destroyed in the droid foundry on Geonosis.

It was not his fault in all honesty, but the blade still got lost, and Anakin created a new lightsaber, the Skywalker saber, the most iconic lightsaber in the franchise. He then got that blade taken from him by Obi-Wan after their duel, going on to create another iconic blade as Darth Vader.

2 Obi-Wan Kenobi

Speaking of Anakin's Master, he had real nerve criticizing Anakin for not taking the proper care of his lightsabers, considering he had three different lightsabers in his life.

Obi-Wan's first lightsaber got disposed of by Darth Maul during the Duel of the Fates, his second got taken by the Geonosians, with it unknown if he got it back, but since he created a third, it seems unlikely.

1 Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker is the most famous case of a Jedi losing their lightsaber, with Maz Kanata's possession of the lightsaber a source of much confusion and a lot of questioning.

Luke, of course, lost the Skywalker lightsaber after getting his hand cut off by Darth Vader during their fight on Bespin. From there, all we currently know is the Ugnaughts found it, and it eventually ended up with Maz, then Rey.
