RUMOR: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Details Leak Ahead of SWCC Panel

A new rumor has emerged regarding the upcoming video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The rumor comes from an alleged developer of the game and was reposted on Reddit. If true, elements of this rumor will be formally confirmed during this year's Star War Celebration.

According to the rumor, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will exist in Star Wars canon. Its basic story is "better and more impressive than [the Star Wars Battlefield 2] one." Supposedly it will be much longer than five hours, though no confirmation on what that really means.

The game is being made with the Unreal Engine 4. It will be single-player only.

The gameplay is being compared to Dark Souls. A parrying function (like in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice) is core to the game. Wallrunning and parkour are said to be featured as well. That said, the source of the rumor said it isn't an action game, like "Devil May Cry or God of War." It was, however, compared to previous Star Wars games, such as Star Wars: Jedi Knight and Star Wars: Force Unleashed, with adventure elements similar to the Uncharted series.

Characters will travel from planet to planet. The gameplay is neither truly linear or open world, as you will go to an era and explore as much as you can before moving on to the next one. Apparently, players might be able to improve equipment by discovering new upgrades via planetary exploration (or even new items altogether). It is unconfirmed if this item upgrade component is part of optional side quests or an element of the main gameplay. The game will also supposedly include a backpack companion droid.

Aesthetically, the game will be designed after Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story, but will also contain "prequel flair." A pre-made male protagonist will be the playable character.

Supposedly, the opening of the game will be huge, featuring a scene involving the Inquisitors from Star Wars Rebels. Apparently, there will be other "cool enemies" in the game as well.

It is important to note that none of these elements are as of yet confirmed, but may be confirmed as marketing for the game develops. Many of the rumored elements offer little specific information, and many of them could be assumed simply by virtue of what is publicly known about the game.

Until the game is released or developers confirm any of this, the rumors surrounding Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a single-player, third-person video game set between the events of the films Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope. The story follows a yet to be named Padawan who managed to survive Order 66, but must now face the wrath of a ruthless Empire. The game was first announced in June 2018, but few details have been revealed as of yet.

The first look at Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order takes place Saturday, April 13 at Star Wars Celebration Chicago.
