Star Wars' upcoming video game Jedi: Fallen Order has cinched a writer familiar with the franchise.

Recently, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 writer Chris Avellone was asked on Twitter about video game projects he has been working on. While the video game and comic book writer was unable to reveal all of the projects he is involved with, he did announce that he had finished work on the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Avellone is no stranger to the Star Wars universe. He was lead designer and writer on the popular 2004 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2. The game expanded on the conclusion of Knights of the Old Republic and introduced new Sith lords to the Star Wars expanded universe before Disney restarted the canon. His creations include Darth Nihilus, Darth Sion and Darth Traya, the latter of which has been called one of the best video game characters ever written.

Avellone's involvement in Respawn Entertainment's upcoming video game is hopefully an indication to gamers that they can expect the same level of complexity and depth in the story and characters of Fallen Order, which revolves around a Jedi padawan who survived the Darth Sidious' Order 66 and the fall of the Jedi.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be a single-player, third-person game set between the events of the films Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Few details have been released, but fans can expect to see more about this game in the upcoming Star Wars Celebration in Chicago on April 13.
