Actor Andrew Jack died due to complications from the COVID-19 virus, and director J.J. Abrams, who had previously worked with Jack on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, took to Twitter to express his condolences."Andrew Jack was as lovely as they come," Abrams said in the Tweet via his personalized stationery. "Our brilliant dialect coach on The Force Awakens... He was so handsome we had to cast him. Sending love to his friends and family. Jack passed at a hospital outside of London as a result of complications he developed from the virus; his assistant Jill McCullough was the first to confirm the news. Jack is survived by his wife, who is currently in quarantine in Australia.

Jack served as the dialect coach for a variety of films, including The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Avengers: Endgame and Matt Reeves' The Batman. He was also the voice of Molloch in Solo: A Star Wars Story and played Major Caluan Ematt in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in which he also served as dialect coach.
