iZombie actor Rahul Kohli dropped a hint linking himself to Star Wars Rebels protagonist Ezra Bridger, which many fans took as an indicator that he would star in The Mandalorian as an older version of the character.

"I've gotten into that Lothal orphan, force sensitive, trained by Kanan Jarrus kind of shape," Kohli tweeted. "For no particular reason."

After the tweet prompted speculation that Kohli might join the cast of the Disney+ series, the actor claimed he "was just goofing around" and asked his publicist to "please take over [his] social media accounts." Even so, the actor followed up with a side-by-side picture of him next to an older, bearded Bridger.

Star Wars Rebels followed force-sensitive teen Ezra Bridger, former Padawan Kanan Jarrus and Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren as they join the fledgling Rebel Alliance. The series also featured characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the films, including Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Darth Maul. The series received critical acclaim and ran for four seasons, but ended on a cliffhanger in 2018.

Star Wars Rebels co-creator Dave Filoni previously said that he "was really happy with how that series turned out, and [felt] like [they] got to tell a complete story there." He then added that, though Star Wars Rebels has ended, its characters have "all earned their place in the galaxy." Given that Ahsoka will reportedly be introduced on The Mandalorian, it stands to reason that other characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels might crossover into live action.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Taika Waititi and Emily Swallow. Season 2 premieres Oct. 30 on Disney+.

All four seasons of Star Wars Rebels are also available on Disney+.
