A new trailer for Star Wars: The High Republic has been released.

The trailer was released at the end of a livestream event featuring authors involved with The High Republic and is narrated by a female Jedi, who gives an overview of The High Republic's overarching story. "Our order was meant to shine its light in even the darkest corners of the galaxy," she says. "There, we found an evil that none of us had trained for -- that threatens all we know."

Images are shown of the Jedi battling several enemies, including the plantlike Drengir and the intergalactic raiders known as the Nihil. A list of publishers was also revealed in the trailer, including Marvel, IDW and even VIZ Media.

Star Wars: The High Republic takes place 200 years before the events of The Phantom Menace. At the height of their power, the Jedi Knights spring into action when a disaster occurs at the newly minted Starlight Beacon station. The High Republic has also inspired the Disney+ series The Acolyte, which is being developed by Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland. The Acolyte has been described as "a mystery-thriller that will take the audience into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era."

Star Wars: The High Republic begins Charles Soule's Light of the Jedi, on sale Jan. 5.
