Miles Teller, Dave Franco and Logan Lerman are reportedly among the dozen names on the shortlist for Disney's Han Solo "Star Wars" spinoff.

According to Variety's unnamed sources, they're joined by the likes of Ansel Elgort, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood, Emory Cohen and Blake Jenner. That's whittled way down from the more than 2,500 young actors who were said to be vying to don Harrison Ford's iconic vest.

The website reports non-disclosure agreements and test deals are being hammered out, but Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are expected to begin testing the actors soon. Variety contends there's a chance a young Han Solo could have a cameo in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," but considering its December release, that would seem to place a rapidly ticking clock on the casting process.

Earlier reports suggested Kennedy & Co. are targeting an actor in his early to mid-20s for the film, set about 10 years before the events of "Star Wars: A New Hope." Of those named, Eastwood (29) and Franco (30) are the oldest; Elgort is the youngest at 21.

Written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan, the untitled movie opens May 25, 2018.
